While his parents envisioned a career in the arts, Warren Hanks paved a different path on his impressive journey with Johnny's Pizza House. He started as a delivery driver in 1993 at just 18 years old, eventually advancing to manager over 9 stores and ultimately becoming a multi-unit manager over 36 stores. Alongside his career, he pursued his education intermittently, recently earning his master's degree fully funded by Johnny’s.
Beyond his professional journey, Warren is deeply motivated by his family: his wife (who he met while working at Johnny’s) and his son. He enjoys sports, particularly cheering on the Saints and eagerly awaiting Monroe's hockey revival. He loves to travel and is planning a South American adventure for his 50th birthday.
He attributes much of his personal and professional development to Johnny's unique employee-owned structure, established in 2001, which fosters a sense of close-knit community and shared success. Being an employee at Johnny’s, you aren’t limited to just being a worker: you can constantly rise in the company and you are encouraged to challenge yourself. Warren realized that Johnny’s wasn’t just a workplace after being recognized by Johnny Huntsman spontaneously at the grocery store. Mr. Huntsman’s care, warmth, and genuine leadership left a lasting impact. The company's commitment to community shines through sponsorships, educational support, and charitable contributions, reflecting Warren's belief in giving back.
Looking ahead, Johnny's Pizza House aims to expand into a six-market region in Jackson, Mississippi, while embracing modern challenges like updating infrastructure and engaging a contemporary workforce. Warren's advice to his younger self echoes his philosophy: stay focused and seize opportunities.
