This week on Chamber Chats we visit with the Center for Children and Families as they launch National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The Center for Children & Families invites the community to join them for an impactful event, "Stand for Hope Together," on April 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Center for Children & Families located at 622 Riverside Drive, Monroe, LA. This event will serve as a powerful kickoff to National Child Abuse Prevention Month and a call to action for everyone to come together to protect the most vulnerable among us: our children.
The event will feature Mayor Friday Ellis of Monroe and Mayor Staci Mitchell of West Monroe as they present a joint mayoral proclamation, officially declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in our community. Their united voices will set the stage for a month of awareness, advocacy, and hope. The event will also honor outstanding community members who have devoted their lives to protecting children, supporting families, and working tirelessly to prevent child abuse.
“Together, we can stand for hope in three powerful ways,” said Chris Ramsey, Chief Operating Officer at The Center for Children & Families. “We can learn to recognize the signs of abuse and understand how to report it, we can volunteer as child advocates with the CASA program, and we can give generously to ensure the essential services provided by The Center continue to make a lasting impact.”
April is a time to reflect on the critical need for vigilance and action in preventing child abuse. Through education, volunteerism, and financial support, we can create a safer environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive. The Stand for Hope Together event will provide an opportunity for individuals and organizations to unite in support of this noble cause and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future for the children in our community.
We encourage all to attend, show their support, and stand with us to ensure that every child is safe, loved, and protected. Together, we can make a difference.
